New Care Groups Launch Brand-new Care Groups will launch in September!  These small home fellowship groups will gather in different locations on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.  The first meetings will be on Tuesday, September 21 and Wednesday, September 22.  A Spanish language group will meet on Sunday evenings. Care Groups are one of the core ministries of Westside because they provide unique opportunities to build close relationships and learn to minister in ways that are difficult in a larger group setting. They provide an important way for Westsiders to get to know and care for one another and to study God's Word and pray together.
Current Teaching Series: "Trusting God" The current teaching series in our Sunday morning Family Bible Hour is focused on learning to recognize specific areas in our lives where we need to trust God more and then trusting Him to change us so we take on biblical attitudes. This subject of trusting God can be easily relegated to the theoretical, spiritual compartment of our lives. But these areas are battleground issues in virtually every Christian’s life.  It is helpful to see what the Bible has to say about the blessing, difficulty and necessity of trusting God with these concerns that are so important to each of us.
From the Heart of the Elders: "They Laid Down Their Lives" The sad news broke this morning that ten members of a Christian medical team were brutally gunned down in northeast Afghanistan.  They were a a mission of mercy to provide eye and other medical care to villagers in a remote part of the country. They had driven to the province, left their vehicles and hiked for hours with pack horses over mountainous terrain to reach the villages. They were shot as they were returning to Kabul.  The Taliban claimed responsibility for the killings.
The Core: What We're Passionate About What is really important in the life of our church?  What are our bottom-line goals?  Where do our passions lie? These are questions that the Westside leadership has seriously considered before the Lord and His Word.  As a result, we've identified of a set of core values -- the things that are really, really important to us as a local church. These core values are our biggest priorities and identify where we’re going as a church. We express these core values in the following statement:
Men's Ministries: Men's Time Out Men's ministries at Westside, called Men's Time Out, includes a variety of opportunities for the men of our church and community. We encourage men to take a time out from their busy schedules to regularly evaluate and plan their lives according to God's purposes and to connect with other men for the purpose of growing in their spiritual lives. A number of men gather in weekly breakfasts at local restaurants for Bible study, discussion and fellowship. See the calendar for times and locations.
Searching for Life's Answers? Are you searching for meaningful answers to the basic questions of life?  If so, you're not alone. Many people sense an emptiness and lack of fulfillment to their lives. People these days feel restless, discontented, even bored. And they wonder why. Perhaps you're one of those people. It may help you to know that others struggle with the same questions. In fact, humankind has been grappling with these issues since nearly the beginning of time. But there is an answer to life's important questions, and some have found it.

Welcome to Westside

BuildingExterior_4Westside Bible Fellowship is made up of ordinary folks who believe that Jesus Christ is the only all-sufficient Savior.

We're "Westside" because we meet west of Portland, Oregon in the Washington County town of Hillsboro.

"Bible" is our middle name. That's because we believe the Bible is relevant and authoritative for every situation we may face in this life and the life to come.

We're a "fellowship" because personal relationships are important to us, and we're learning to encourage and serve one another.

We're a work in progress. We're learning to love and follow Christ and share Him with others. We invite you to come learn with us.

Our Vision

thiswayforward1Our vision is to be a Christ-centered, Biblically-based community of believers who are passionate about loving and worshipping Jesus Christ, loving and serving each other, living holy lives and reaching the world with the good news of the Gospel and doing all in humble dependence on Christ.
